State and Big Island Resident’s meeting residency requirements are eligible for resident lottery slots for the 2011 Ford Ironman World Championship. Athletes will be required to complete the 2011 Rohto Ironman 70.3 Hawaii within the official cut-off times to qualify for the lottery. The lottery will take place the week following the 2011 Rohto Ironman 70.3 Hawaii.
Athletes interested in a State or Big Island Resident lottery slot must be full time residents of the State of Hawaii for at least three years before the upcoming Ford Ironman World Championship race. For example, for 2011 you must have resided full time in Hawaii since October 8, 2008. Full time means not being gone for more than 4 months. Owning a vacation home in Hawaii or a full time residence elsewhere does not qualify you for residency.
Due to the three-year residency requirement, proof of residency must be submitted to the Ironman race office between February 1, 2011 and April 1, 2011. Submissions received after April 1, 2011, 4 p.m. will not be accepted. Residency proof must include a copy of your current State of Hawaii driver’s license or State of Hawaii Identification.
PLUS copies of your State of Hawaii Resident tax forms from 2008, 2009 and 2010 (front page only, sensitive information covered up) OR copies of your W2 Forms from 2008, 2009 and 2010 OR a letter from your employer or landlord stating length of association.
Anyone who submitted residency information in 2010 needs to submit only their identification plus their 2010 State of Hawaii Tax form or W2 form. Please fax these documents to the Ironman race office (808) 326-2131 or mail to:
